Dragging knees to the stomach

I haven't decided whether this lesson is about attaining freedom from/using the floor, or the amazing things that happen if you refine a pathway for the lower leg that stays parallel to the spine through a range of folding and extending. Or what. It's a follow-up on a missed recording two weeks ago, but don't worry. We could have done this one first anyway.

whole body experience
nice recording - again - Lynette! thanks! :-)
For me a bit fast, like all recorded ATM seem to be a bit too fast for me recently. I can spend like 15min on a single movement alone... recently. Also I like to try both sides alternately more early ... in this regard very impatient ;-)
I noticed when I bend both legs together, I can easily roll over and try the flipside, then roll over, and try the sunny side ...
Also it gave me a "full body experience", at one moment I felt like I am an organic being, rather than a brain with awareness and receptors. Quite nice new feeling! I wonder how many people are lucky enough to naturally feel this way all the time?!
lesson 515
thank you for your recording, Lynette.
I appreciated very much the experience of beeing able to reproduce
the pattern in those different positions in relation to the real and the imagined floor.
What you said in your comments about the child development and the freedom from the floor made it even more enjoyable . I wonder if it would be a good thing to talk about that during a lesson for any kind of students and if it would be as plesurable for them to discover the meanings hidden behind ? I am curious about your opinion.
themes and knees
Hi Alfons, Mady,
It's interesting, Alfons--the thing with both knees isn't actually in 515--I went that way because of what the class was doing. Interesting to see. Sometimes pulling both knees up is a "more advanced" lesson, but in this case it was a "less differentiated" pattern coming out. One that would feel very organic and pre-verbal.
Also the freedom from the floor and developmental ideas aren't explicit in Moshe's 515--I felt that, with this group, I haven't talked about these things much over the years, and so it seemed appropriate to do some framing. So it was a judgment call for one group. I think there are levels of self-discovery of themes--the "ah that's what they mean by..." discoveries, and the more purely creative ones, where no one ever told you the Method could be about X but there you are experiencing X. All good options.
